This is a popularized model of the Samsung SH-100, the first domestic mobile phone developed by Samsung Electronics. The 47 units of the Samsung SH-100 model were provided to members of the International Olympic Committee during the 24th Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988, and the model began to be sold in the market in 1990 with the model name Samsung SH-100S after being recognized for its convenience in use.
This bar-type phone, produced in 1990, has a receiver antenna mounted on the top right of the device. There is a liquid crystal display screen on the upper area of the front side, along with the name of the manufacturer, “SAMSUNG,” in English at the bottom. The sales price of the handset was 1.65 million won. The Samsung SH-100S offers a glimpse at the technological status of the Korean mobile communications service’s development history. |
