The 30th Summer Olympic Games were held for 17 days in London, England, from July 27 to August 12, 2012. About 10,500 athletes from 204 member countries of International Olympic Committee gathered to compete with each other in the major international multi-sport event. The United States finished at the top of the medal table, winning a total of 104 medals, including 46 gold medals, followed by China with 38 gold medals. Korea ended the London Olympics with a total of 28 medals (13 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze) to rank fifth in the overall medal tally.
This uniform, produced by Cheil Industries, was worn by the Korean national team members who participated in the 30th Olympic Games in London. The uniform consists of a navy double-breasted jacket and white pants. The manufacturer stated that the design, with the concept of “Honoring the 1948 Olympics,” aimed to recall the meaning of the uniform for the 1948 London Olympics. The Korean national team’s uniform for the 30th Olympic Games in 2012 was selected as one of the best uniforms in the London Olympics by Time, a weekly newsmagazine in the U.S. |
